"The definitive aim of catechesis is to put people not only in touch but in communion, in intimacy, with Jesus Christ: only he can lead us to the love of the Father in the Spirit and make us share in the life of the Holy Trinity."—Pope St. John Paul II (Catechesi Tradendae, n. 5)
Our Mission:
The mission of the Office of Catechesis is to provide professional and catechetical resources for quality faith formation for people of all ages in the Diocese of Evansville.
"Catechesis makes the proclamation of the passion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ continually resound in the heart of every person, so that life may be transformed. A dynamic and complex reality at the service of the Word of God, catechesis is accompaniment, education and formation in the faith and for the faith, an introduction to the celebration of the Mystery, illumination and interpretation of human life and history." (Directory for Catechesis, n. 55)
